Hysteroscopic Surgery
Hysteroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that involves using a hysteroscope—a thin, lighted tube with a camera—to examine and treat issues within the uterus. This surgical technique allows healthcare providers to visualize the interior of the uterus and perform various procedures without the need for traditional open surgery. Common hysteroscopic procedures include the removal of uterine polyps, fibroids, or adhesions, as well as the treatment of abnormal bleeding or other uterine abnormalities.
During hysteroscopic surgery, the hysteroscope is inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus, providing a direct view of the uterine cavity on a monitor. This allows for precise diagnosis and targeted treatment. Hysteroscopic surgery is often preferred for its minimal invasiveness, shorter recovery times, and reduced risk of complications compared to traditional open surgery.
Overall, hysteroscopic surgery is a valuable tool in gynecological care, offering a less intrusive approach to address various uterine issues and improve women’s reproductive health.
